Hot Habits with Dr. Tamsin

Conscious Leadership in Action

You don't need another podcast telling you to wake up at 5am, journal harder, and "crush it."

You need a nervous system that can actually lead.

Hot Habits is the podcast for purpose-driven leaders who are done with hustle theater, performative wellness, and the quiet hum of burnout disguised as ambition. It's for the CEOs, founders, and senior operators who give a damn about their people and their P&L, and who suspect (correctly) that the two are not separate problems.

Each week, I sit down with leaders, scientists, and culture-builders who are doing the actual work: regulating their own nervous systems, designing humane organizations, and building lives they don't need to escape from. We get into the how, not just the inspiration.

Who this is for

  • Leaders who care about culture, not as a poster, but as physiology.
  • CEOs and operators rebuilding themselves and their organizations after burnout, transition, or a wake-up call.
  • People who suspect that "just push through" was bad advice the first 47 times and is still bad advice.
  • Coaches, consultants, and team leads who want science-backed tools, not vibes.

If you've ever caught yourself white-knuckling your calendar at 11pm wondering why nobody on your team will just do the thing, this show is for you.

What you'll actually get

Every episode delivers three things:

  1. A real story — from the guest's actual life and leadership, not a sanitized highlight reel.
  2. The science underneath it — neuroscience, habit research, and nervous system mechanics translated into language you can use in a Monday morning meeting.
  3. One thing you can do this week — because insight without integration is just expensive entertainment.

Recurring themes: nervous system regulation as leadership infrastructure, the Pause → Notice → Chooseframework, psychological safety that's more than a slide, the Big Juicy Why, and how to lead organizations that don't quietly chew people up.

About your host

I'm Dr. Tamsin Astor — cognitive neuroscientist (PhD, UCL), executive coach, facilitator, keynote speaker & habits strategist. I've spent two decades translating brain science into the kind of leadership practices that actually hold up under pressure.

I work with purpose-driven CEOs and teams using my B2P (Business to Person) framework because every business problem is, eventually, a human one. I'm a Londoner who lives in Brooklyn, mother of three amazing humans and partner to an extraordinary documentary film maker. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 47. I've navigated cancer in my family, narcissistic ex-partners, and the fun discovery that none of my degrees prepared me to parent teenagers. I've also built a practice from the ground up by stubbornly refusing to lead from anywhere other than my actual values.

So: warm, science-grounded, allergic to bullshit, occasionally swears. You've been warned.
